Why managed portfolios of individual securities?

We manage portfolios of individual positions of securities and each account is tailored to your individual needs and risk tolerances. Since it is clear which securities you own, at which quantity, price and purchase date, there is complete transparency. In a taxable account, gains can be offset with losses in anticipation of tax consequences. Also, stock portfolios provide a high degree of liquidity, and there is security in that - you can move to cash in three days (trade settlement time).

Pricing

Our pricing is competitive. Unlike most brokerage firms, mutual fund or 'fintech' companies (robo-advisors), our business is not primarily driven by scale and selling a commodity product to the masses. We want to work with a select group of clients who understand and appreciate what we do, and value our personalized advice. It has been shown that a key limitation to performance of retail investment accounts is bad timing of investment decisions. Working with a professional advisor may help to improve your decision-making. Like many purchase decisions, the cheapest option is not always the best.

Portfolio Review

At no cost to you, we would like the opportunity to have a look at your current holdings, and offer our assessment. Please contact us for further information.

Retirement Planning

Retirement planning is a critical and ongoing topic of conversation and effort with our clients. However, we believe that trying to develop a plan with a high level of precision is misleading. A common sense attitude, honesty, transparency, and an ongoing and flexible process are essential for sound retirement planning success.

The surest way to wealth is frugality, adding regularly to your savings, and maximizing your investment return over time. This can unleash the power of compound interest. As Benjamin Franklin said; "Get what you can, and what you get hold, 'Tis the stone that will turn all your lead into gold".
